Article R6156-5 of the French Public Health Code

The term of office of the members mentioned in 1° and 2° of article R. 6156-2 is four years. They may be reappointed.

In exceptional circumstances, the term of office may be reduced or extended, for a reason of general interest, by order of the Minister for Health issued after consulting the Board. This reduction or extension may not exceed one year.

La durée du mandat des membres mentionnés aux 1° et 2° de l’article R. 6156-2 est fixée à quatre ans. Leurs fonctions sont renouvelables.

La durée du mandat peut être exceptionnellement réduite ou prorogée, pour un motif d’intérêt général, par arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé pris après avis du conseil supérieur. Cette réduction ou prorogation ne peut excéder une durée d’un an.
