Article R616-2 of the French Intellectual Property Code

The search report which must be produced in any infringement proceedings brought pursuant to an application for a utility certificate or a utility certificate shall be drawn up at the written request of the applicant.

The request shall be admissible only if it is accompanied by proof of payment of the prescribed fee.

Le rapport de recherche qui doit être produit dans toute instance en contrefaçon introduite en vertu d’une demande de certificat d’utilité ou d’un certificat d’utilité est établi sur requête écrite du demandeur.
