The Minister for Health may, after obtaining the opinion of the committee referred to in article L. 6213-12, in its formation provided for in article R. 6213-19, individually authorise the persons referred to in 3° of article L. 6213-2, who do not meet the conditions laid down in article L. 6213-1 or in 1° of article L. 6213-2 and who so request, to practise as medical biologists.
Authorisation to practise may only be granted to persons who hold either a doctorate in practice or a university doctorate, or an engineering degree in a field relevant to the area of specialisation in biology concerned.
The authorisation to practise is granted in the field of specialisation of the national reference centre concerned, for the period limited to the exercise of the function of director or deputy director of a national reference centre.
For the purposes of 3° of Article L. 6213-2, the emergency biological response unit is treated in the same way as a national centre of reference.
