On the day of the vote count, the list of voters drawn up from the “voters’ file” processing constitutes the list of voters for postal votes.
The chairman and at least one of the members of the committee each receive a separate counting key, in a way that guarantees confidentiality, enabling them to access the data in the file known as the “contents of the electronic ballot box”. The chairman also receives the information needed to verify the integrity of the electronic voting system.
After the voting operations have been closed and the integrity of the file known as the “contents of the electronic ballot box” has been verified, the chairman of the election organisation committee and the member of the committee referred to in the previous paragraph proceed publicly to the count.
The vote counts for each candidate appear legibly on the screen and are the subject of a secure printout which is included in the election minutes.
The electronic voting system is locked after the count so that it is impossible to resume or modify the result after the decision to close the count has been taken by the committee.
The election organisation commission checks that the total number of votes cast electronically corresponds to the number of voters shown on the enrolment list.
The total number of votes cast electronically and the number of votes obtained by each candidate are recorded in the minutes.
