Article R732-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The administrative authority competent to assign a foreign national to residence pursuant to 1°, 2°, 3°, 4°, 5° or 6° of article L. 731-3 or article L. 731-4 is the prefect of the département where the place of assigned residence is located and, in Paris, the police prefect.

Article R732-2

L’autorité administrative compétente pour assigner un étranger à résidence en application des 1°, 2°, 3°, 4°, 5° ou 6° de l’article L. 731-3 ou de l’article L. 731-4 est le préfet de département où se situe le lieu d’assignation à résidence et, à Paris, le préfet de police.
