In accordance with article R. 264-1, the provisions of articles R. 731-1, R. 732-1 to R. 732-6 and R. 733-1 to R. 733-21 are applicable to foreign nationals whose situation is governed by Book II.
The administrative authority ascertains the state of health of the foreign national defined in article L. 731-4 under the conditions provided for in articles R. 611-1 and R. 611-2.
The administrative authority competent to place a foreign national under house arrest pursuant to article L. 731-1 is the prefect of the département where the place of house arrest is located and, in Paris, the police prefect.

The administrative authority competent to assign a foreign national to residence, pursuant to 7° or 8° of article L. 731-3 or article L. 731-5 is the Minister of the Interior.
Foreign nationals who are notified of house arrest pursuant to article L. 731-1 are informed of their rights and obligations by means of a form handed to them when they are notified of the decision by the administrative authority or, at the latest, when they are first presented to the police or gendarmerie units.
Residence orders issued pursuant to article L. 731-3 may be accompanied by a work permit.
