Article R733-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The administrative authority that ordered the foreign national’s house arrest pursuant to articles L. 731-1, L. 731-3, L. 731-4 or L. 731-5 sets out the procedures for applying the measure:
1° It determines the perimeter within which he or she is authorised to move with documents proving his or her identity and administrative situation and within which his or her residence is set;
2° It designates the service to which he or she must report, according to a frequency that it sets within the limit of one report per day, specifying whether the obligation to report applies on Sundays and public holidays or non-working days;
3° It may designate a time slot during which he or she must remain on the premises where he or she resides.

L’autorité administrative qui a ordonné l’assignation à résidence de l’étranger en application des articles L. 731-1, L. 731-3, L. 731-4 ou L. 731-5 définit les modalités d’application de la mesure :
1° Elle détermine le périmètre dans lequel il est autorisé à circuler muni des documents justifiant de son identité et de sa situation administrative et au sein duquel est fixée sa résidence ;
2° Elle lui désigne le service auquel il doit se présenter, selon une fréquence qu’elle fixe dans la limite d’une présentation par jour, en précisant si l’obligation de présentation s’applique les dimanches et les jours fériés ou chômés ;
3° Elle peut lui désigner une plage horaire pendant laquelle il doit demeurer dans les locaux où il réside.
