Article R8252-6 of the French Labour Code

The employer of a foreign national who is not authorised to work shall pay the wages and allowances set out in article L. 8252-2 by any means within the period specified in article L. 8252-4.

He shall provide the foreign employee with the corresponding pay slips, a certificate of employment and the balance of all accounts. He shall provide proof to the French Office for Immigration and Integration, by any means, that he has fulfilled his legal obligations.

Article R8252-6

L’employeur d’un étranger non autorisé à travailler s’acquitte par tout moyen, dans le délai mentionné à l’article L. 8252-4, des salaires et indemnités déterminés à l’article L. 8252-2.

Il remet au salarié étranger sans titre les bulletins de paie correspondants, un certificat de travail ainsi que le solde de tout compte. Il justifie, auprès de l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration, par tout moyen, de l’accomplissement de ses obligations légales.
