Article R8294-3 of the French Labour Code

The holder of the professional identification card must inform his employer or the user company within twenty-four hours of any damage, loss or theft of his card, so that the employer or the user company can inform the union of funds mentioned in article R. 8291-2, in accordance with the procedure laid down by this body.

Any card reported stolen, lost or seriously damaged is invalidated. At the request of the employer or user company and after payment of the fee referred to in article R. 8291-3, the union des caisses will issue a new card for the employee concerned.

Le titulaire de la carte d’identification professionnelle informe, dans un délai de vingt-quatre heures, son employeur ou l’entreprise utilisatrice de toute dégradation, perte ou vol de sa carte, afin que l’employeur ou l’entreprise utilisatrice en informe l’union des caisses mentionnée à l’article R. 8291-2, selon la procédure prévue par cet organisme.


Toute carte signalée comme volée, perdue ou gravement détériorée est invalidée. L’union des caisses édite, sur demande de l’employeur ou de l’entreprise utilisatrice et après paiement de la redevance mentionnée à l’article R. 8291-3, une nouvelle carte pour le salarié concerné.
