Article 1136-5 of the French Code of civil procedure

The applicant who requests, pursuant to the 6° of article 515-11 of the Civil Code, authorisation to conceal his domicile or residence is exempt from indicating the address in his document instituting proceedings, provided that this information is brought to the attention of the lawyer assisting or representing him or of the public prosecutor at the judicial court to which he elects domicile. The deed shall mention this election of domicile.

The lawyer or the public prosecutor with whom the applicant has elected domicile shall notify the judge of the applicant’s address without delay. The court registry and the person to whom the address is communicated for the purposes of the proceedings may not make it known to the defendant or his representative.

Le demandeur qui sollicite, en application du 6° de l’article 515-11 du code civil, l’autorisation de dissimuler son domicile ou sa résidence est dispensé d’en indiquer l’adresse dans son acte introductif d’instance, sous réserve de porter cette information à la connaissance de l’avocat qui l’assiste ou le représente ou du procureur de la République près du tribunal judiciaire, auprès duquel il élit domicile. L’acte mentionne cette élection de domicile.

L’avocat ou le procureur de la République auprès duquel il est élu domicile communique sans délai l’adresse du demandeur au juge. Le greffe ainsi que la personne à laquelle l’adresse est communiquée pour les besoins de la procédure ne peuvent la porter à la connaissance du défendeur ou de son représentant.
