Article 123-8 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The sums entered in an automatic account must be invested by the account holder within one of the time limits set as follows for each category of aid concerned:
1° In the case of automatic financial support for the production of feature films, within five years of 1 January of the year following the year in which the sums entered in the account were calculated;
2° In the case of automatic financial support for the distribution of feature films, within four years of 1 January of the year following the year in which the sums entered in the account were calculated;
3° With regard to automatic financial aid for the creation and modernisation of cinematographic establishments, within ten years from 1st January of the year following the year during which the sums entered in the automatic account or in the automatic accounts grouped into circuits were calculated;
4° In the case of automatic financial assistance for the production of audiovisual works, within two years of 1 January of the year following the year in which notification was given of their entry in the account;
5° In the case of automatic financial assistance for video publishing, within five years of 1 January of the year following the year in which the sums entered in the account were calculated;
6° With regard to automatic financial aid for online distribution, within three years from 1st January of the year following the year during which the sums entered in the account were calculated;
7° With regard to automatic financial aid for the promotion of cinematographic works abroad, within three years from 1st January of the year following the year during which the sums entered in the account were calculated.

Article 123-8

L’investissement des sommes inscrites sur un compte automatique par le titulaire de ce compte doit être effectué dans l’un des délais fixés comme suit pour chaque catégorie d’aides concernée :
1° En ce qui concerne les aides financières automatiques à la production des œuvres cinématographiques de longue durée, dans un délai de cinq ans à compter du 1er janvier de l’année suivant celle au cours de laquelle les sommes inscrites sur le compte ont été calculées ;
2° En ce qui concerne les aides financières automatiques à la distribution des œuvres cinématographiques, dans un délai de quatre ans à compter du 1er janvier de l’année suivant celle au cours de laquelle les sommes inscrites sur le compte ont été calculées ;
3° En ce qui concerne les aides financières automatiques à la création et à la modernisation des établissements de spectacles cinématographiques, dans un délai de dix ans à compter du 1er janvier de l’année suivant celle au cours de laquelle les sommes inscrites sur le compte automatique ou sur les comptes automatiques regroupés en circuit ont été calculées ;
4° En ce qui concerne les aides financières automatiques à la production des œuvres audiovisuelles, dans un délai de deux ans à compter du 1er janvier de l’année suivant celle de la notification de leur inscription sur le compte ;
5° En ce qui concerne les aides financières automatiques à l’édition vidéographique, dans un délai de cinq ans à compter du 1er janvier de l’année suivant celle au cours de laquelle les sommes inscrites sur le compte ont été calculées ;
6° En ce qui concerne les aides financières automatiques à la diffusion en ligne, dans un délai de trois ans à compter du 1er janvier de l’année suivant celle au cours de laquelle les sommes inscrites sur le compte ont été calculées ;
7° En ce qui concerne les aides financières automatiques à la promotion à l’étranger des œuvres cinématographiques, dans un délai de trois ans à compter du 1er janvier de l’année suivant celle au cours de laquelle les sommes inscrites sur le compte ont été calculées.
