Article 312-13 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

When the relevant committee gives a favourable opinion on an application for support for authors, its opinion also covers, in the light of the information provided in the application file, the form of support best suited to the project between support for the concept and support for writing.
Aid is granted as concept aid when the aim is to produce a formalised version of the project and as writing aid when the aim is to produce an elaborated version of the project.
When the committee decides in favour of writing aid, it may also propose the form that the elaborated version of the project could take.

Article 312-13

Lorsque la commission compétente émet un avis favorable sur une demande d’aide aux auteurs, son avis porte également, au vu des éléments fournis dans le dossier de demande, sur la forme d’aide la plus adaptée au projet entre une aide au concept et une aide à l’écriture.
L’aide est attribuée en tant qu’aide au concept lorsqu’il s’agit d’aboutir à une version formalisée du projet et en tant qu’aide à l’écriture lorsqu’il s’agit d’aboutir à une version élaborée du projet.
Lorsque la commission se prononce en faveur d’une aide à l’écriture, elle peut également proposer la forme que pourrait prendre la version élaborée du projet.
