Article 383 of the French Customs Code

The administration is authorised not to make any payment by virtue of judgments contested by opposition, appeal or cassation, unless those in whose favour the said judgments have been rendered have first given good and sufficient security for the sums awarded to them.

L’administration est autorisée à ne faire aucun paiement en vertu des jugements attaqués par les voies d’opposition, d’appel ou de cassation, à moins qu’au préalable ceux au profit desquels lesdits jugements ont été rendus n’aient donné bonne et suffisante caution pour sûreté des sommes à eux adjugées.
