Article 393 of the French Civil Code

Without prejudice to the provisions of Article 392, guardianship ends when the minor becomes emancipated or reaches majority. It is also terminated in the event of a final discharge judgment or the death of the person concerned.

Sans préjudice des dispositions de l’article 392, la tutelle prend fin à l’émancipation du mineur ou à sa majorité. Elle prend également fin en cas de jugement de mainlevée passé en force de chose jugée ou en cas de décès de l’intéressé.
