Article 411-1 of the French Civil Code

The guardianship judge and the public prosecutor exercise general supervision over guardianship within their jurisdiction.

The guardians and other guardianship bodies are obliged to comply with their summons and to provide them with any information they require.

The judge may issue injunctions against them and impose the civil fine provided for in the Code of Civil Procedure on those who fail to comply.

Le juge des tutelles et le procureur de la République exercent une surveillance générale des tutelles de leur ressort.

Les tuteurs et autres organes tutélaires sont tenus de déférer à leur convocation et de leur communiquer toute information qu’ils requièrent.

Le juge peut prononcer contre eux des injonctions et condamner à l’amende civile prévue par le code de procédure civile ceux qui n’y ont pas déféré.
