Article 411-17 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The production company has a period of two years from the date of notification of the investment approval or the financing authorisation for the work to obtain a cinematographic exhibition licence.
In exceptional circumstances and at the reasoned request of the production company, the aforementioned period may be extended for a period not exceeding two years, by decision of the President of the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.

Article 411-17

L’entreprise de production dispose d’un délai de deux ans à compter de la notification de l’agrément d’investissement ou de l’autorisation de financement pour que l’œuvre obtienne le visa d’exploitation cinématographique.
A titre exceptionnel et sur demande motivée de l’entreprise de production, le délai précité peut être prolongé d’une durée qui ne peut excéder deux ans, par décision du président du Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.
