The award of financial aid for the production of short cinematographic and audiovisual works is subject to the provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty, in particular those provided for in Chapter I and Article 54 of Section 11 relating to aid schemes for audiovisual works.

Automatic financial assistance is only awarded for works of original French expression.However, this condition does not apply to:1° Works of fiction based on an opera and produced in the language of the libretto;2° Documentary works produced in a language whose use is justified by the subject matter;3° Animated works;4° Works in which the use of a foreign language is justified for artistic reasons relating to the script.
