Selective financial aid is awarded to production companies for the initial filming and pre-editing of a creative documentary, particularly with a view to seeking funding.
To qualify for enhanced development aid, production companies must meet the conditions set out in articles 421-13 and 421-14.
Support for enhanced development will not be granted for projects that are the subject of a contract for the purchase of broadcasting rights by a television service publisher on the date they are examined by the Commission des aides à l’innovation en documentaire.
When the project has received writing aid or development aid, the application for enhanced development aid must be submitted within five years of the decision to award the last of these aids.During the period in which the application is being examined, the project may not be the subject of another application for aid from the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée.
An application for enhanced development aid may be submitted by one or more authors provided that, at the time of its examination by the Commission des aides à l’innovation en documentaire, the application has been taken over by a production company with which the author(s) has (have) signed an audiovisual production contract.
The production company must provide the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée with the elements resulting from the first shoot and pre-editing, as well as proof of the expenses incurred, within eighteen months of the decision to grant the aid.In exceptional circumstances and at the reasoned request of the production company, the aforementioned deadline may be extended by a period not exceeding twelve months, by decision of the…
Enhanced development aid is paid to the production company as follows: – 80% at the time of the award decision;– 20% after submission to the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée of the elements resulting from the first shooting and pre-editing of the project, as well as proof of the expenses incurred.
