Article 469 of the French Customs Code

The transport of the goods referred to in article 468 to the place of inspection, unpacking, repacking and any handling required by the inspection are carried out at the expense and under the responsibility of the owner, consignee or exporter of the goods or, failing this, any other person involved in the import or export operation.

Le transport des marchandises visées à l’article 468 sur les lieux du contrôle, le déballage, le remballage et toutes les manipulations nécessitées par ce contrôle sont effectués aux frais et sous la responsabilité du propriétaire, du destinataire ou de l’exportateur des marchandises ou, à défaut, de toute autre personne qui participe à l’opération d’importation ou d’exportation.
