Where the person to whom the document is to be served has no known domicile, residence or place of work, the judicial officer shall draw up a report in which he shall give a precise account of the steps he has taken to seek out the addressee of the document.
On the same day or, at the latest, on the first working day thereafter, failing which the document shall be null and void, the bailiff shall send to the addressee, at the last known address, by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, a copy of the report, to which shall be attached a copy of the document that is the subject of the service.
On the same day, the bailiff notifies the addressee, by simple letter, of the completion of this formality.
The provisions of this article are applicable to the service of a document concerning a legal person that no longer has a known establishment at the place indicated as the registered office by the register of commerce and companies.
