Article 696-103 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The order of the liberty and custody judge made pursuant to article 696-102 shall be notified without delay to the offender.

The offender is also informed by a note in the notification that he or she has a period of five days to submit a request to the Investigating Chamber specifying, on pain of inadmissibility, the legal or factual grounds for his or her challenge.

The liberty and custody judge shall inform the competent authority of the issuing State, by any means that leaves a written record, of the protection measure adopted and the consequences incurred in the event of a breach of that measure.

Article 696-103

L’ordonnance du juge des libertés et de la détention prise en application de l’article 696-102 est notifiée sans délai à l’auteur de l’infraction.

L’auteur de l’infraction est, en outre, informé par une mention portée dans l’acte de notification qu’il dispose d’un délai de cinq jours pour saisir la chambre de l’instruction d’une requête précisant, à peine d’irrecevabilité, les motifs de droit ou de fait de sa contestation.

Le juge des libertés et de la détention informe l’autorité compétente de l’Etat d’émission, par tout moyen laissant une trace écrite, de la mesure de protection adoptée et des conséquences encourues en cas de violation de cette mesure.
