Article 763-7-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where a person sentenced to socio-judicial supervision is required to carry out this measure following a custodial sentence, he or she will be given, before release, a notice to appear before the sentence enforcement judge or the prison integration and probation service within a period of no more than eight days, in accordance with the procedures laid down by the decree referred to in article 763-9. If the offender is summoned to appear before the prison integration and probation service, the socio-judicial supervision measure is referred to this service.

Article 763-7-1

Lorsque la personne condamnée à un suivi socio-judiciaire doit exécuter cette mesure à la suite d’une peine privative de liberté, il lui est remis, avant sa libération, un avis de convocation à comparaître devant le juge de l’application des peines ou devant le service pénitentiaire d’insertion et de probation dans un délai qui ne saurait être supérieur à huit jours, selon des modalités prévues par le décret mentionné à l’article 763-9. En cas de convocation devant le service pénitentiaire d’insertion et de probation, ce service est alors saisi de la mesure de suivi socio-judiciaire.
