Article 82 quater of the French Customs Code

1. The maximum length of time that goods may remain in storage or on customs clearance premises is set by order of the Director General of Customs and Excise.

2. When, at the latest on expiry of the period provided for in 1 of this article, the goods have not been the subject of a declaration assigning them a customs procedure, the operator is required to take these goods to the premises of a public warehouse where they are automatically placed in storage.

1. La durée maximum du séjour des marchandises en magasin ou sur les aires de dédouanement est fixée par arrêté du directeur général des douanes et droits indirects.

2. Lorsque, au plus tard à l’expiration du délai prévu au 1 du présent article, les marchandises n’ont pas fait l’objet d’une déclaration leur assignant un régime douanier, l’exploitant est tenu de conduire ces marchandises dans les locaux d’un entrepôt public où elles sont constituées d’office en dépôt.
