Article 887 of the French Code of civil procedure

On the day indicated, an attempt at conciliation shall be made before the court, of which a record shall be drawn up.

The court may delegate the conciliation mission to a court conciliator appointed for this purpose.

If one of the parties does not appear, his absence is noted in the minutes.

Au jour indiqué, il est procédé, devant le tribunal, à une tentative de conciliation dont il est dressé procès-verbal.


Le tribunal peut déléguer la mission de conciliation à un conciliateur de justice désigné à cette fin.


En cas de non-comparution de l’une des parties, son absence est constatée dans le procès-verbal.
