Article A211-4 of the French Insurance Code

The supporting documents provided for in articles R. 211-15, R. 211-17 (2nd paragraph) and R. 211-18 must bear one of the following headings respectively:

-certificate of insurance (art. R. 211-15 of the Insurance Code) ;

-provisional certificate of insurance (art. R. 211-17 of the French Insurance Code);

-certificate of ownership of a vehicle belonging to the State (vehicle exempt from compulsory insurance)(art. L. 211-1 of the Insurance Code);

This heading must appear at the top right-hand corner of each of the above documents.

The supporting documents mentioned in the first paragraph of this article must bear the signature or stamp of the authority or insurance organisation that issued them.

Les documents justificatifs prévus aux articles R. 211-15, R. 211-17 (2e alinéa) et R. 211-18 doivent comporter respectivement un des intitulés suivants :

-attestation d’assurance (art. R. 211-15 du code des assurances) ;

-attestation provisoire d’assurance (art. R. 211-17 du code des assurances) ;

-attestation de propriété d’un véhicule appartenant à l’Etat (véhicule dispensé de l’obligation d’assurance) (art. L. 211-1 du code des assurances) ;

Cet intitulé doit figurer en haut et à droite de chacun des documents susmentionnés.

Les documents justificatifs mentionnés au premier alinéa du présent article doivent comporter la signature ou le cachet de l’autorité ou de l’organisme d’assurance qui les a délivrés.
