Article D133-3 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

Where a payment service user has used the means made available to him by his payment service provider in accordance with II of Article L. 133-15 to inform him of the loss, theft or misappropriation of his payment instrument, the payment service provider shall provide the customer, at the latter’s request and for a period of eighteen months from the date on which the customer informed the payment service provider, with the evidence enabling the customer to prove that the payment service provider informed the payment service user.

Lorsqu’un utilisateur de services de paiement a utilisé les moyens mis à sa disposition par son prestataire de services de paiement conformément au II de l’article L. 133-15, pour l’informer de la perte, du vol ou du détournement de son instrument de paiement, le prestataire de services de paiement fournit au client, sur demande de ce dernier et pendant dix-huit mois à compter de l’information faite par celui-ci, les éléments lui permettant de prouver que ce dernier a procédé à cette information.
