When a convicted person is serving one or more custodial sentences of a total duration of less than or equal to two years, the prison administration shall inform him, at least one month before the remainder of the sentence is equal to three months, or if the sentence is less than or equal to six months, when he is committed to prison or when the sentence becomes final, that he is likely to benefit from compulsory release as of right, even if he opposes it.
The provisions of this article and that of this sub-section do not apply in the cases referred to in III of article 720.
