Article D2343-7 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The accounting officer of the commune is solely responsible for:

1° Taking all necessary steps to collect revenues, legacies and donations and other resources allocated to the service of the commune;

2° Taking, against debtors in arrears and with the authorisation of the mayor, the necessary acts, notifications and enforcement measures under the conditions of article R. 2342-4;

3° To notify the administrators of the expiry of leases;

4° To prevent prescription;

5° To ensure the conservation of rights, liens and mortgages;

6° To request, for this purpose, the publication in the real estate register of all titles that are susceptible of such publication;

7° Finally, to keep a register of entries made in the real estate register and other proceedings and diligences.

Le comptable de la commune est chargé seul :

1° De faire toutes les diligences nécessaires pour la perception des revenus, legs et donations et autres ressources affectées au service de la commune ;

2° De faire faire, contre les débiteurs en retard de payer et avec l’autorisation du maire, les actes, significations et mesures d’exécution forcée nécessaires dans les conditions de l’article R. 2342-4 ;

3° D’avertir les administrateurs de l’expiration des baux ;

4° D’empêcher les prescriptions ;

5° De veiller à la conservation, des droits, privilèges et hypothèques ;

6° De requérir, à cet effet, la publication au fichier immobilier de tous les titres qui en sont susceptibles ;

7° Enfin, de tenir registre des inscriptions portées au fichier immobilier et autres poursuites et diligences.
