This committee, chaired by the Prefect or his representative, includes :
– an architect and the president of a tourist office or tourist information centre, appointed by order of the prefect;
– two hotel owners who own their business and rent the building, appointed by the Prefect on the recommendation of the most representative departmental hotel trade union;
– two owners of buildings used as hotels, appointed by the Prefect on the recommendation of the most representative association of owners of built-up properties.
Hotel owner members must not have any interest in the ownership of buildings used as hotels. Owner members must not operate a hotel.
At the same time as each full member, the Prefect appoints a deputy to replace him/her if he/she is absent or unable to attend.
In the event of a tie, the Chairman has the casting vote.
