Article D321-1 of the French Sports Code

Pursuant to article L. 321-1, insurance policies cover the financial consequences of civil liability incurred by :

1° Sports associations and companies, the organisers of sports events mentioned in articles L. 321-1 and L. 331-5, the operators of physical activity and sports establishments mentioned in article L. 322-1 ;

2° Their employees, whether paid or unpaid, and any other natural person who assists in the organisation of sporting events involving motorised land vehicles;

3° licence holders and participants.

These contracts may not derogate from the provisions defined by this section. They are free to determine the extent of cover.

Article D321-1

Les contrats d’assurance garantissent, en application de l’article L. 321-1, les conséquences pécuniaires de la responsabilité civile encourue par :

1° Les associations et sociétés sportives, les organisateurs de manifestations sportives mentionnés aux articles L. 321-1 et L. 331-5, les exploitants d’établissements d’activités physiques et sportives mentionnés à l’article L. 322-1 ;

2° Leurs préposés, rémunérés ou non, ainsi que toute autre personne physique qui prête son concours à l’organisation de manifestations sportives comportant la participation de véhicules terrestres à moteur ;

3° Les licenciés et pratiquants.

Ces contrats ne peuvent pas déroger aux dispositions définies par la présente section. Ils fixent librement l’étendue des garanties.
