Article D4153-21 of the French Labour Code

I.-It is prohibited to assign young people to work exposing them to ionising radiation requiring a category A or B classification within the meaning of article R. 4451-57.

II – For young people aged 16 or over, the prohibition mentioned in I may be waived under the conditions and in the forms laid down in section 3 of this chapter and subject to compliance with the provisions laid down in Chapter I of Title V of Book IV of Part Four of the Labour Code.

The young people concerned are classified as category B within the meaning of article R. 4451-57 and, in a radiological emergency, may not be assigned to one of the groups defined in article R. 4451-99.

I.-Il est interdit d’affecter les jeunes à des travaux les exposant aux rayonnements ionisants requérant un classement en catégorie A ou B au sens de l’article R. 4451-57.

II.-Pour les jeunes âgés d’au moins 16 ans, il peut être dérogé, à l’interdiction mentionnée au I dans les conditions et formes prévues à la section 3 du présent chapitre et sous réserve du respect des dispositions prévues au chapitre Ier du titre V du livre IV de la quatrième partie du code du travail.

Les jeunes concernés sont classés en catégorie B au sens de l’article R. 4451-57 et, en situation d’urgence radiologique, ne peuvent être affectés à l’un des groupes définis à l’article R. 4451-99.
