Article D4711-3 of the French Labour Code

In the absence of specific provisions, the employer shall keep documents relating to observations and formal notices issued by the Labour Inspectorate, as well as those relating to inspections and checks for which employers are responsible in terms of health and safety at work over the last five years and, in any event, those relating to the last two inspections or checks.

For the same period, it keeps copies of the occupational accident declarations made to the primary health insurance fund.

Sauf dispositions particulières, l’employeur conserve les documents concernant les observations et mises en demeure de l’inspection du travail ainsi que ceux concernant les vérifications et contrôles mis à la charge des employeurs au titre de la santé et de la sécurité au travail des cinq dernières années et, en tout état de cause, ceux des deux derniers contrôles ou vérifications.

Il conserve, pendant la même durée, les copies des déclarations d’accidents du travail déclarés à la caisse primaire d’assurance maladie.
