Article D49-19 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Where the sentenced person who is not in custody does not appear for the adversarial hearing, the judge or the sentence enforcement court shall either order that the hearing be postponed to a later date, after having, if necessary, issued a warrant to bring in or arrest the person in accordance with the provisions of Article 712-17 or a search note in accordance with the provisions of Article D. 49-20, or rule in accordance with the provisions of Article 712-9.

Lorsque le condamné non détenu ne se présente pas au débat contradictoire, le juge ou le tribunal de l’application des peines soit ordonne le renvoi du débat à une date ultérieure, après avoir si nécessaire délivré un mandat d’amener ou d’arrêt conformément aux dispositions de l’article 712-17 ou une note de recherche conformément aux dispositions de l’article D. 49-20, soit statue conformément aux dispositions de l’article 712-9.
