Article D553-17 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The death of the beneficiary terminates entitlement to the asylum seeker’s allowance. The death of a family member terminates entitlement for the portion corresponding to that person.
The beneficiary’s imprisonment or placement in detention in the cases provided for in articles L. 752-2 and L. 753-1 results in suspension of entitlement to asylum seeker’s allowance. The incarceration or detention of a family member will result in the suspension of that person’s entitlement.
These elements are taken into account from the time they are reported to the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration (French Office for Immigration and Integration), where applicable under cover of the accommodation operator or the structure responsible for supporting the applicant.

Le décès du bénéficiaire met fin aux droits à l’allocation pour demandeur d’asile. Le décès d’un membre de sa famille y met fin pour la part correspondant à cette personne.
L’incarcération du bénéficiaire ou son placement en rétention dans les cas prévus aux articles L. 752-2 et L. 753-1 entraîne la suspension des droits à l’allocation pour demandeur d’asile. L’incarcération ou le placement en rétention d’un membre de sa famille entraîne leur suspension pour la part correspondant à cette personne.
Ces éléments sont pris en compte à partir de leur signalement à l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration, le cas échéant sous couvert de l’opérateur d’hébergement ou de la structure chargée de l’accompagnement du demandeur.
