Article D6124-216 of the French Public Health Code

I.-The medical inpatient unit consists of the following sectors:

1° An inpatient area where patients can be monitored and cared for in conditions appropriate to their pathology and age, while respecting their privacy and confidentiality ;

2° A reception and relaxation area for patients’ families and friends, located within or close to the sector referred to in 1°.

II.-The hospitalisation sector referred to in I includes in-patient rooms for full-time in-patient units, and specific rooms or areas for part-time in-patient units.

III.-The part-time inpatient unit is separate from the full-time inpatient unit.

The holder of the authorisation draws up an operating charter describing the functions and tasks of the multidisciplinary team dedicated to part-time inpatient care referred to in Article D. 6124-217.

IV -When members of a full-time inpatient unit located close to a part-time inpatient unit are trained in part-time inpatient care, the teams of the two units may be pooled.

Article D6124-216

I.-L’unité d’hospitalisation en médecine est constituée des secteurs suivants :

1° Un secteur d’hospitalisation permettant la surveillance et les soins des patients dans des conditions adaptées à leur pathologie et à leur âge, dans le respect de leur intimité et de la confidentialité ;

2° Un espace d’accueil et de détente pour les familles et les proches des patients, situé au sein ou à proximité du secteur mentionné au 1°.

II.-Le secteur d’hospitalisation mentionné au I comporte des chambres d’hospitalisation pour les unités d’hospitalisation à temps complet, et des chambres ou espaces spécifiques pour les unités d’hospitalisation à temps partiel.

III.-L’unité d’hospitalisation à temps partiel est distincte de l’unité d’hospitalisation à temps complet.

Le titulaire de l’autorisation établit une charte de fonctionnement décrivant les fonctions et les tâches de l’équipe pluridisciplinaire dédiée aux prises en charge en hospitalisation à temps partiel mentionnée à l’article D. 6124-217.

IV.-Lorsque des membres d’une unité d’hospitalisation à temps complet, située à proximité d’une unité d’hospitalisation à temps partiel, sont formés aux prises en charge en hospitalisation à temps partiel, les équipes des deux unités peuvent être mutualisées.
