Article D6124-224 of the French Public Health Code

I.-The multidisciplinary team of a paediatric medicine unit is trained to meet the psychological developmental needs of children and adolescents. Where appropriate, it sets up therapeutic education programmes.

II.-The holder of the authorisation organises the reception, information and support of parents, in conjunction with a social worker and a psychologist and, where necessary, with the assistance of a child psychiatrist.

III – When the holder of the authorisation takes charge of an adolescent aged sixteen or over in an adult medical inpatient unit on the site, the adolescent is accommodated in a dedicated room.

I.-L’équipe pluridisciplinaire d’une unité de médecine pédiatrique est formée à répondre aux besoins psychologiques de développement de l’enfant et de l’adolescent. Elle met en place, le cas échéant, des programmes d’éducation thérapeutique.

II.-Le titulaire de l’autorisation organise l’accueil, l’information et le soutien des parents, en lien avec un assistant social et un psychologue et, en tant que de besoin, avec le concours d’un pédopsychiatre.

III.-Lorsque le titulaire de l’autorisation prend en charge un adolescent de seize ans et plus dans une unité d’hospitalisation de médecine adulte du site, l’adolescent est accueilli dans une chambre qui lui est dédiée.
