I. – Intensive care units are equipped for :
1° X-ray, ultrasound and bronchial and digestive endoscopy examinations to be carried out in the unit’s rooms, when this is justified by the conditions under which the patient is being cared for ;
2° Continuous parametric monitoring ;
3° Invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation;
4° Organ replacement procedures.
II. – Intensive care units are equipped for :
1° X-ray, ultrasound and bronchial and digestive endoscopy examinations to be carried out in the unit’s rooms, when this is justified by the patient’s conditions of care;
2° Continuous parametric monitoring;
3° Where appropriate, the temporary performance of organ replacement procedures, with the exception of extracorporeal circulation procedures.
The intensive care units for cardiology, vascular neurology, haematology and the specialties mentioned in VII of article R. 6123-34-3 have the equipment required to perform organ replacement procedures for their specialty.
Adjacent multi-purpose intensive care units are equipped to perform invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
