The cheque cannot be accepted. A statement of acceptance on the cheque is deemed to be unwritten.

However, the drawee may endorse the cheque; endorsement has the effect of establishing the existence of the funds on the date on which it is given.

Le chèque ne peut pas être accepté. Une mention d’acceptation portée sur le chèque est réputée non écrite.

Toutefois, le tiré a la faculté de viser le chèque ; le visa a pour effet de constater l’existence de la provision à la date à laquelle il est donné.
