The regional health plan referred to in article L. 1434-1 includes the provisions necessary for the implementation of the national plan for the prevention of health risks linked to the environment, which fall within the remit of the regional health agencies.
The national plan for the prevention of health risks linked to the environment is implemented at regional level in the form of regional “health and environment” plans. The aim of these plans is to ensure that the policies defined in the fields of health and the environment are implemented on a regional basis. These regional plans are based on the priority issues defined in the national plan, while taking into account the risk factors specific to each region. They are implemented by decentralised government departments, regional health agencies and regional councils, in association with other local authorities, in particular through local health contracts.
