The Agency employs staff governed by titles II, III or IV of the general status of civil servants as well as the staff mentioned in 1° and 2° of article L. 6152-1, teachers at the national veterinary schools or veterinarians attached to them, veterinarians employed by other public establishments, and veterinarians and health officers under contract to the State, on active service, secondment or secondment.
The provisions of article L. 421-1 of the French Research Code are applicable to the Agency’s researchers, engineers and technical staff working directly on research projects.
The Agency also employs contract staff under public law, with whom it may enter into fixed-term or open-ended contracts.
The Agency may employ contract staff under private law to perform scientific or technical functions. These functions may be carried out by employees who are also primarily self-employed.
Army veterinary surgeons, military personnel, civil servants and non-tenured civil servants under the authority of the Army Health Service, in the exercise of its veterinary responsibilities, may, with the agreement of the Minister of Defence, carry out specific assignments on behalf of the Agency, under the conditions laid down in their statutes.
