I. – When the Payment Service User becomes aware of the loss, theft, misappropriation or any unauthorised use of his payment instrument or the data linked to it, he shall inform his payment service provider or the entity designated by the latter without delay so that the instrument can be blocked.
II. – Where payment is made by means of a payment card issued by a credit institution, an institution or a service referred to in Article L. 518-1 and enabling the cardholder to withdraw or transfer funds, the payment may be blocked in the event of the beneficiary’s receivership or liquidation proceedings until the amount of the payment transaction has been credited to the account of the beneficiary’s payment service provider.
