The control referred to in Article L. 1333-30 is carried out under the same conditions as those laid down in Chapter I of Title VII of Book I of the Environment Code.
Where the competent authority is the French Nuclear Safety Authority (Autorité de sûreté nucléaire – ASN), fines are imposed by the ASN’s Enforcement Committee under the conditions laid down in Section 3 of Chapter VI of Title IX of Book V of the Environmental Code.
In addition to the provisions set out in II of Article L. 171-8 of the Environment Code, the Nuclear Safety Authority may temporarily or definitively withdraw the registration or authorisation referred to in Article L. 1333-8, and order the restoration of the site.
In an emergency involving the safety of persons, the suspension of a nuclear activity that has been duly declared, registered or authorised pursuant to article L. 1333-8 may be ordered as a precautionary measure by the Nuclear Safety Authority.
