Access to primary care and the ongoing care of patients are defined in accordance with the requirements of proximity, which is assessed in terms of distance and travel time, quality and safety. They are organised by the regional health agency in accordance with the regional health plan provided for in article L. 1434-2. This care includes :
1° Prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients ;
2° Dispensing and administering medicines, products and medical devices, as well as providing pharmaceutical advice;
3° Guidance in the healthcare system and the medico-social sector;
4° Health education.
Health professionals, including the attending physicians referred to in article L. 162-5-3 of the Social Security Code, and health centres contribute to the provision of primary care in collaboration and, where appropriate, within the framework of organised cooperation with health, social and medico-social establishments and services.
