Article L172-19 of the French Insurance Code

The insured must:

1° Pay the premium and expenses at the place and times agreed;

2° Take reasonable care of all matters relating to the vessel or the goods;

3° Declare accurately, at the time of conclusion of the contract, all circumstances known to him which are such as to enable the insurer to assess the risk he is assuming;

4° Declare to the insurer, insofar as he is aware of them, any increases in risk occurring during the course of the contract.

L’assuré doit :

1° Payer la prime et les frais, au lieu et aux époques convenus ;

2° Apporter les soins raisonnables à tout ce qui est relatif au navire ou à la marchandise ;

3° Déclarer exactement, lors de la conclusion du contrat, toutes les circonstances connues de lui qui sont de nature à faire apprécier par l’assureur le risque qu’il prend à sa charge ;

4° Déclarer à l’assureur, dans la mesure où il les connaît, les aggravations de risques survenues au cours du contrat.
