Article L2112-7 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The movable and immovable property belonging to the commune located, on the date of publication of the decree or order provided for in article L. 2112-5, on the portion of territory being joined to another commune or those belonging to a commune joined to another commune become the property of that other commune.

If they are located on a portion of territory erected as a separate commune, they become the property of this new commune.

Les biens meubles et immeubles appartenant à la commune situés, à la date de publication de l’arrêté ou du décret prévu à l’article L. 2112-5, sur la portion de territoire faisant l’objet d’un rattachement à une autre commune ou ceux appartenant à une commune réunie à une autre commune deviennent la propriété de cette autre commune.

S’ils se trouvent sur une portion de territoire érigée en commune distincte, ils deviennent la propriété de cette nouvelle commune.
