Article L221-7 of the French Sports Code

If they are employees of the State or a local authority or their public establishments, high-level athletes, referees or judges on the list mentioned in the first paragraph of article L. 221-2 benefit from special conditions of employment, without prejudice to their career, in order to continue their training and take part in sporting competitions, under conditions set by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.

Article L221-7

S’il est agent de l’Etat ou d’une collectivité territoriale ou de leurs établissements publics, le sportif, l’arbitre ou le juge de haut niveau figurant sur la liste mentionnée au premier alinéa de l’article L. 221-2 bénéficie, afin de poursuivre son entraînement et de participer à des compétitions sportives, de conditions particulières d’emploi, sans préjudice de carrière, dans des conditions fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
