Article L222-16 of the French Consumer Code

The provisions of article L. 34-5 of the French Post and Electronic Communications Code are applicable to financial services.
The distance communication techniques intended for the marketing of financial services other than those mentioned in article L. 34-5 of the French Post and Electronic Communications Code may only be used if the consumer has not expressed his opposition.
The measures provided for in this article must not entail any costs for the consumer.

Les dispositions de l’article L. 34-5 du code des postes et communications électroniques sont applicables aux services financiers.
Les techniques de communication à distance destinées à la commercialisation de services financiers autres que celles mentionnées à l’article L. 34-5 du code des postes et communications électroniques ne peuvent être utilisées que si le consommateur n’a pas manifesté son opposition.
Les mesures prévues au présent article ne doivent pas entraîner de frais pour le consommateur.
