Article L222-5 of the French Consumer Code

In good time and before being bound by a contract, the consumer shall receive information, the list of which shall be laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat, covering:
1° The identity and contact details of the professional and of any person acting on his behalf;
2° Information relating to the financial products, instruments and services offered;
3° The right of withdrawal;
4° The contractual terms and conditions, in particular tariffs, and the procedures and place for concluding the contract;
5° The law applicable to the contract and the competent jurisdiction.
The information communicated by the supplier to the consumer on the contractual obligations shall comply with the law applicable to the contract in the event of its conclusion.
This information, the commercial nature of which must be unequivocal, shall be provided in a legible and comprehensible manner by any means appropriate to the means of distance communication used.
This article is applicable without prejudice to the application of legislative and regulatory obligations specific to each product, financial instrument or service offered.
The specific terms and conditions applicable in the event of communication by voice telephony shall be laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.

Article L222-5

En temps utile et avant qu’il ne soit lié par un contrat, le consommateur reçoit des informations dont la liste est fixée par décret en Conseil d’Etat et portant sur :
1° L’identité et les coordonnées du professionnel et de toute personne agissant pour son compte ;
2° Les informations relatives aux produits, instruments et services financiers proposés ;
3° Le droit de rétractation ;
4° Les conditions contractuelles, notamment tarifaires, et les modalités ainsi que le lieu de conclusion du contrat ;
5° La loi applicable au contrat et la juridiction compétente.
Les informations communiquées par le fournisseur au consommateur sur les obligations contractuelles sont conformes à la loi applicable au contrat en cas de conclusion de celui-ci.
Ces informations, dont le caractère commercial doit apparaître sans équivoque, sont fournies de manière lisible et compréhensible par tout moyen adapté à la technique de communication à distance utilisée.
Le présent article est applicable sans préjudice de l’application des obligations législatives et réglementaires spécifiques à chaque produit, instrument financier ou service proposé.
Les modalités particulières applicables en cas de communication par téléphonie vocale sont fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
