Sexual health centres may, as part of their contraceptive prescription activities and under the responsibility of a doctor or midwife, provide prevention, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases. They provide anonymous screening and treatment for these diseases. They provide services free of charge to minors who request them and to people who are not covered by a basic health insurance scheme or who have no rights under such a scheme. In these cases, the costs of prevention, screening and treatment are covered by the health insurance schemes, without application of the provisions of the Social Security Code and the Rural and Maritime Fishing Code relating to entitlement to benefits covered by the basic schemes, reimbursement of the portion guaranteed by the health insurance scheme and the insured person’s contribution to the tariffs used as a basis for reimbursement.
As part of their preventive role, sexual health centres carry out the vaccinations set out in the vaccination calendar. The provisions relating to anonymity do not apply.
A decree issued after consultation with the Haut Conseil de la santé publique (High Council for Public Health) sets out the terms and conditions for the application of this article. This decree also sets the conditions under which the costs of this prevention, screening and treatment are covered by the health insurance bodies on the basis of tariffs determined under the conditions set out in Chapter II of Title VI of Book I of the Social Security Code.
