Article L312-28 of the French Consumer Code

The credit agreement shall be drawn up on paper or on another durable medium. It constitutes a document distinct from any advertising medium or document, as well as from the information sheet referred to in Article L. 312-12. A box at the beginning of the agreement informs the borrower of the main features of the credit.

The list of information appearing in the contract and in the box mentioned in the first paragraph is set by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.

Article L312-28

Le contrat de crédit est établi sur support papier ou sur un autre support durable. Il constitue un document distinct de tout support ou document publicitaire, ainsi que de la fiche mentionnée à l’article L. 312-12. Un encadré, inséré au début du contrat, informe l’emprunteur des caractéristiques essentielles du crédit.

La liste des informations figurant dans le contrat et dans l’encadré mentionné au premier alinéa est fixée par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
